They say that planning is half the fun. Well, if that is the case, we are in for a great time. We met some people who lived in New Zealand for a year and they shared their blog and resources with us which were immensely helpful. For information on hikes check out NZ Frenzy. They are written for both the north and south islands. We also benefitted from itineraries from friends who visited NZ and Australia. One of the pleasures of this trip is that we get to travel about 2.5 weeks with our dear friends, Jane and John. Together, we have planned many of the things we will do from Queenstown, NZ through Australia.
Another highlight we are very much looking forward to is meeting my second cousins', Rob Shannon and Jan Smith. They both live on the north island. Our grandparents were siblings.
So, I have many of the reservations done but still need to get to the small details. Forrest and I have never travelled for 6 weeks all at once, so we are both excited and apprehensive. Hopefully this blog will keep you all informed and help us remember the day to day events.
